My thoughts on…J-Lo’s Olympic envy

Eight-time gold-medal winner Michael Phelps is easily the pride of U.S. Olympic team. All Americans are proud of him - except one. Jennifer Lopez. She can’t understand why the media’s so caught up with his achievement, not so much as mentioning his name. She just referred to him as “the swimmer”. Disrespectful much? She says that she’s the real athlete. Why? Because she’s training for the Malibu Triathalon to raise money for a children’s hospital, and doing so six months after giving birth, something that she never fails to emphasize.
Well IOC, you’ve obviously made a serious oversight. This woman should just be given a gold medal! And its obvious that she isn’t doing this for truly charitable reasons, as she would be promoting the event instead of herself. I can’t believe the nerve of this woman. The media suckles at Hollywood’s teat 24/7, never failing to publicize even the most insignificant detail about the lives of celebrities. I don’t give a damn who broke up with whom. Why would I waste any time speculating about a celebrity’s baby bump? And if I hear another stupid Hollywood supercouple name fusion, I’m going to strangle the next paparazzi I see.
Yet this one time, once every four years, the media focuses on something that really matters - the world’s best athletes competing on the world’s greatest stage, for the glory of self and country, and in doing so, uniting the world. But no, these divas want the spotlight to be on them constantly so they can feed their already oversized egos. Get a life J-Lo! Phelps deserves his time in the spotlight too. He worked hard for what he’s accomplished, and what he has achieved far outshines anything you have or will achieve. And the strange thing about it is that he’s humble, a rare trait among American Olympians. You could learn something from him. And you dare call yourself an “athlete?” You wouldn’t last a minute in the Olympics. Your ass would weigh you down too much anyway.
