My thoughts on…Usain Bolt’s 100m Olympic win

I watched the event Saturday morning after being awakened by my parents. It was a formidable lineup. Bolt, Asafa and Frater (go Wolmers!). We all watched the race intently and were obviously happy when Bolt won, but disappointed when Asafa finished 5th. I didn’t think he was gonna win still, as he tends to choke on the big events. Sad, but true. I guess I should give him some slack, as he’s suffering from groin injuries. Bolt celebrated in fine style, slapping himself on the chest, letting himself get mobbed by fans and doing the “gully creepa” (I think) and of course parading with the Jamaican flag.

Some people accused him of showing off, but let’s face it, you’d be happy too if you achieved such a feat. Did I mention he broke the world record? 9.69. Incredible! He could’ve done even better, ’cause he did it with such ease. He made the Olympics look like Champs! I’m detecting a subtle but strong undercurrent of jealousy from the American media. They’re putting a lot of emphasis on his height, as if they’re saying that his success is due to his height. But if they knew anything, they’d know that increased height means increased body weight, negating the advantage taller runners would gain otherwise. Not to mention the bragging accusation above. Some people are just sore losers.

Due to the Jamaican “waggonist” mentality, more people were rooting for Powell not because he was a better athelete, but simply because he got more press, but with this win, I know a lot of people are gonna jump on the Bolt bandwagon. Lemme give a shout out to Shelly-Ann Fraser, Sherone Simpson-Brown and Kerron Stewart for taking all the medals in the women’s 100m. If only the men did the same. Suck it US! Big up Bolt!

also i terms of height its rare that a guy that tall is that coordinated to be fast anyways. face it bolt is a freak of nature. US media just vex they had to settle for third

Finally — knew this post was coming! America needs to take a seat and give up the protests and bias… they got the men’s 400mh, they shud be glad with that, even tho if Danny Mac had just a little more speed… ah well…. I’m not a wagonist, but I love Powell. He’s just got a few minor probs to work out is all, u win some, lose some-give the kid a break.

Bolt is too good to be true, and our girls? Just glorious! I feel so proud to be J’can right now… Ah tell you, ah tell you… Big up Kenia Sinclair too! SHe crach far for a junior.

PS thought you might like to know (if you don’t already), Bolt’s phenom run got rick-rolled on youtube! (LOL)

They are haters indeed, and the irony is Ato Bolden from Trinidad calling Usain out ’bout showboating, and no one was more boastfuk than Ato when he was running with Maurice Green! Dyam hypocrite! I heard that the head of the Jamaican Olympic committee also made a comment about it as well, saying that Usain should have concentrated on congratulating his opponents…what a load of rubbish. He needs two slaps. Like they wudda pay him any mind if he won.
