My thoughts on…Obama Bin Laden
The battle for the Whitehouse is heating up, but most would say that its not much of a battle anymore. Obama is clearly the crowd favourite. In fact, he is jokingly called “President Obama”. It seems like nothing can stop the Obama juggernaut…until now. A picture of Barack Obama wearing a turban has surfaced on the Internet, and it has caused quite a stir in both camps. It is alleged that Mrs Clinton’s aides circulated the picture. Mr. Obama’s campaign manager, David Plouffe, described it as “the most shameful, offensive fear-mongering we’ve seen from either party in this election”.
Personally I don’t see what all the fuss is about. It’s not like he’s got explosives strapped to him, high fiving Osama and burning the American flag. The truth is, Mr. Obama is merely wearing the same clothes as the nomads in Somalia, and there is no religious significance behind it whatsoever. I personally think the Clinton camp is behind this, to feed both the rumours that he’s a Muslim and the xenophobia Americans have towards them, and its a sad and shameful tactic. You’d think Americans would’ve recovered from 9/11 by now. They’d better change that part in their anthem about the “home of the brave” to the “home of the paranoid”. In response to this, the Obama camp has released this picture. Quite appropriate don’t you think?

what can I say. the cartoon at the end is classic! word to monty python!

This was totally low and a flagrant display of ignorance and xenophobia. So what if he did wear it? How does this add up to being some kind of negative or betrayal? We are not allowed to recover from 9/11 in some ways. We are constantly reminded of it and trying to move on is seen as trying to diminish the memory of those who senselessly lost their lives. But none of us will forget that. We’ll always remember. What we need to let go of is the fear and panic that the government used to get King George re-elected, into war with Iraq, loss of our our civil liberties and thinking places like Guantanamo Bay serve the greater good of the US. This breeds the xenophobia and leaves us chasing our tail. 9/11 is used to perpetuate that fear. And lets face it, it was a tragedy of near biblical proportions.
Expect more of this in the upcoming weeks especially if it appears he will win the whole thing in Nov
I nearly wrote about this myself. Nice cartoon.
amazing
I mean, was he trying on a traditional garment? I need a caption. I need one very badly.
Are they suggesting America is about to elect a Muslim president? And oh my gosh would that be so bad?
