I think many teens and kids are interested in the Bible but find it intimidating and formidable. This gives them a great overview of one angle from which the story of salvation can be viewed. Depending on what the reader brings to the table, Jesus can be many things. Go <a>here</a> if you'd like to read a discussion on why "turning the other cheek" was actually a lot more cheeky than people think.
