Just out of sheer curiosity, I decided to check my blog’s reading level, just to see if my content is easily read or above the heads of my readers. Here’s the result:
Well now I know it’s readable, but elementary school is a bit below my expectations. My writing isn’t that juvenile, is it?
LOL! Actually, that tells me that whatever you used to check the reading level out is a crock. 90% of the words you use, elementary schoolers can’t even spell, much less understand.
I got Junior High school.
nice blog leon, indeed very beautiful. and nice content.
I got the same, and though I use simple words, I like to believe that it’s harder than Elementary school!
Well I got Genius!
Then I was told by someone else, that means I probably waffle and confuse people.
So it most likely means yours is clear and very readable
These measurements are designed for Americans who read and write at the eighth to ninth grade levels. I would not place any great import or significance on such measurements.RESPECT!!
Simple words and sentences are what make a blog readable. As internet users are getting younger and younger, I think this is actually a good thing.
More power!
saw this crappy test a while back giving me what seemed like random results.
You writing is very good, so don’t put too much thought into this result
It just means they making elementary school kids smarter:)
I tried the test few times on different days. Sometimes it gave me a different result when I didn’t even change my blog’s layout. So, I guess it’s just for fun, can’t rely on this kind of thing so much.
@Woobie
I don’t know I feel comfortable with young internet users being able to understand Leon’s blog, not all the posts anyway.
I thought your writing was wonderful. I enjoyed your post on the cheapest car…I think that I would be scared to ride in that one…lol
I’ll be back!
what posh, your definately above elemntary
My blog also scored “Elementary” at some point, but then I managed to bump it up to “Junior High School”.
I think that a lower level is better. It means that you’re not using complicated words, and that everyone can understand you. Another plus is that language translators will translate your blog more accurately.
I was actually _aiming_ for elementary level with my blog. Until a review for another site changed all that :/

Talk about elementary: My blog scored College (Undergraduate). Jealous, are we?
Just kidding, of course.
I also checked BBC’s website and the level was Junior High School. The same for CNN (although they don’t deserve as much) and Reuters.
So that means that I write better than the people in BBC. Now, that is a good thought:)
It is a funny test, but nothing more. Probably they are testing for ‘difficult’ words from dictionary.
There is nothing wrong with your blog. Best Regards and keep blogging.

Does that look like genius to you?
I guess I’m in good company. Mine is the same and I had the same thoughts you had. WTF? I appeal to elementary school kids??!
Apparently, (clears throat) the bots don’t read for content (sniffs in an uppity fashion).
haha, I have no idea how I get “Junior High School” level for my articles.
Well, just like pericles pointed out, I think the engine just search for those “difficult” word to rate the articles.
That’s a great tip!!
I haved checked it out and I got Junior High School level for my articles!
I got Junior High school too …
