My thoughts on…Slaveland
Hey parents! Wanna have a family vacation in a magical land set in the 16th century, where you and your loved ones spend 12 fun-filled hours being kidnapped, chained, piled onto a ship, sold like cattle, psychologically tortured and made to work mercilessly? Revel in the guilt and shame of your ancestors! What? No takers? Well that’s exactly what a Colorado couple wants to do. They want to recreate the experience of slavery, in Haiti of all places. Read all the details here.
The place won’t be named Slaveland, but it might as well be. Instead, it will be named Memory Village. The idea isn’t bad enough, but they want to put the theme park in the middle of the world’s most hostile and underdeveloped countries. Yeah. This’ll end well.
Perhaps nobody told them, but the only slavery people want to be subjected to involves a lot more leather and a hot chick with a bad attitude. It’s great that they want to commemorate the 200th anniversary of the Haitian slavery rebellion, but building a theme park that punishes the patrons (even worse than usual), has to be the worst business idea ever. This is gonna be a big waste of $700,000, I can tell you. I don’t know about you, but I don’t see Disneyland losing business any time soon. Next up, Nazi World!

Atleast good sence prevailed, they didn’t put it in Jamaica
This idea of developing a Memory Village based on the experience of slavery is blatantly gross and totally sickening to say the least. The effrontery and gall of such planners.Haitians need to put a stop to this type of sordid, vile, and perverse degradation of its people and society. For Haitians to promulgate this type of debasement, depravation, and perversion by recreating slavery or a simulation of same, this would stand in sharp contradistinction to its historical role in the fight against slavery and can be classified as a significant form of retrograde and retrogression.Indeed, the society is desparately in need of investments, but this is not the direction that Haiti should be moving in.Haitians act now and put a stop to this callous spectacle.RESPECT!!
That’s why I think money corrupts the mind, these people have too much money till they have gone mad!
It might turn out to be survival theme park when those Haitians start killing them off!
Good lord, I read that article. It takes all kinds to make a world, doesn’t it.
lol@stunner..
the things ppl think of
(Speechless.)
Well nothing wrong with wanting to educate people on the atrocities of slavery but a theme park? only here in America would someone think that this is a great idea.
i think people would actually pay to go there
The whole thing is a bit over the top. Haiti’s history is rich enough without needing all the props
I don’t think any event should be celebrated by an amusement park, i think it is insentive and just plain rude. An amusement park should involve some kind of fun not in place where it should be remembered and thought upon. Just my opinion
