What consenting adults do in the privacy of their homes is not our business.I really am not bothered about gays..far too many other issues out there for me to even get bent out of shape because men love men and women love women.

Leon, could you tell me on my blog which your site is so hard to navigate? All this scrolling is hard and I want to continue checking your blog

I agree with what Hilltop Observer said....

I do not think Jamaica Is against gays because of any law written in the books some 100 or so years ago however.
You are right, Jamaica is not Homo-phobic, but we are very Homo-Intolerant and as such treat those who wish to express the homosexuality openly with extreme Prejudice.

I found the Govts anal retentiveness about allowing men to be charged with the rape of other men ludicrous... Just because U don’t want imply Buggery is legal?...
Like it or not, this crime does occur and the Gov't wants to deny the rights of the victims because they don’t want to offend their backward sensibilities regarding Gays who wish to be open about their sexuality.... I expect such degenerate modes of thinking from the un-educated masses... not our country's leaders.

P.S. sorry for the long post

Leon -

If your land's law is based on the Bible, I guess the attackers are forgetting Jesus' highest commandment to love one another as He loved us?

What i said probably came across wrong. Let me see if i can explain it better. I could care less if people try and attack gays, but you wont find me taking part in it. And when i said 'As long a they avoid me' i ment that if they do approach i'll retaliate. NO MAN not supposed to approach me and tell me that they like me keep it to you damn self. If a man was to do that i'd probably hit him in the face. I wouldn't be like " Oh I'm sorry but i'm not interested" no freakin way

Look...the fact is that the word "homophobia" is pretty accurate. Most straight people are afraid of queer folk (as they understand them to be) and afraid of...oh..i dont know...somehow becoming contaminated??? Gordon wants them to leave him alone. That's fear. He is afraid of being approached. Reality is that very few gay men will approach another man if they are unsure as to his sexual orientation. Most gay people don't wear their queerness on their sleeve. I don't. My friends knew me as a cocksman, which I was, but I dug guys which I kept quite for most of my life. Things are different. My ex girlfriend met my ex-boyfriend and all is well. My ex-boyfriend and my very straight best friend used to hang out all the time. Introduced to people that way, most people react completely differently to when they are introduced to it in the person of limp wristed effeminate boys. I maintain that the real story is that Jamaicans hate an effeminate man more than they hate gay men. But effeminate men personify queerness in Jamaica, and the two have become forever blended in an unhappy marriage. If folks stopped and stripped away learnt reflex behaviour from conscious thought, you'd be surprised at how attitudes would change from open hostility to indifference. By indifference I mean that you can still find man on man sexual contact unappealing and completely unattractive, but you can divorce the person from the behaviour. The central issue though is this: is someone's private sexual practices with another consenting adult (a) the business of the state and (b) a sound basis on which to discriminate against someone? The logical answer to both of those questions must be no. You'd have to come up with some pretty strong arguments to counter it. but...that's my two cents worth.

Hi Leon (Good name btw :)) I will respond to your post in Topics... but I want to respond to Gordon's comments here. Not to start an argument but because his comment deserves some feedback.

Gordon: You say you won't promote the violence and just hope to be left alone by them. Fine, I have no problem with that. "Serve them right." That statement justifies the violence. Violence without a need to defend yourself is wrong.

Something to think about: Instead of "gay" use "anti-slave" or "woman's right to vote"

Serve them right. I for one don't support the gay movement. It's just not normal for people to do. If i see one, i wont shout out Gays or run them down trying to kill them, because that's pure ignorance, but i surely wont promote it. I sincerely hope it doesn't get any larger here but seeing how things are going now it's that it's bound to happen. Oh well life goes on. As long as they avoid me it's all good
