Light a candle for World AIDS Day
December 2nd 2006 -
Those in the know would have realized that yesterday was World AIDS Day. Contrary to popular belief, you don’t have to be a physician or an AIDS patient to take part. And I’m not talking about wearing those stylish red ribbons alone. You can raise money to help in the fight against AIDS. It won’t cost you a penny, and you can do it from the comfort of your own computer. Bristol-Myers Squibb will donate $1 for every person who visits Light To Unite a lights a candle. All it takes is a simple click. I picked this up from Rain Storms, so you could say it’s a meme, only far more serious. Last time I checked there were nearly half a million candles lit. Good, but not good enough. So light a candle and help make a difference. Don’t forget to spread the word.

Brlliant!! Will spread the word. Also love the RED campaign, initiated by Bono, whereby part proceeds from the purchase of marked RED items go towards the purchase and distribution of AIDS meds in Africa…

Nice post, the drug company could do alot more good by offering the drugs for free instead of donating a few dollars to some organization.

Have been a lit my candle.. and then read the small print that says that a max on $100,000 will be donated - so my click wasn’t worth anything
