My thoughts on…Pluto’s new "name"
We all know what happened to Pluto the other day. The once 9th planet was deemed unfit to be called a planet and was reduced to dwarf planet status. Now, after recovering from the sting of that decision, it’s been given another bitchslap by those stargazing nerds. The Minor Planet Center has assigned Pluto a new name, one fitting of its new status. And that is…134340. Hey, that’s my Blogger password! Oops.
Talk about adding insult to injury. You’re probably asking why do I care? Well I have a tendency to pick up for the underdog. Plus I’m a bit of stargazer, so I actually care about the little ball of ice. (I bet you’d care more if it were Pluto the dog huh?) That must suck big time. To go from being named after the Roman god of death to some generic number. If I were Pluto, I mean 134340, I’d be plotting a collision course with Earth right now.
Here’s an idle thought: if de numbers represented letters as placed in de alphabet, then Pluto’s 1st 4 #s would actually spell ACDC, which is kinda cool — as it stands, no worries, de artist formerly known as Pluto is still Pluto — Prince’s publicist could attest 2 how difficult it is 2 change a fame-name.
A dwarf planet now. May be Pluto or 134340 has lost its gig as the 9th planet, but look on the bright side, Pluto or 134340 can now cast for a role as the 8th dwarf in Snow White.

I haven’t been following this whole “planet-that’s-not-a-planet” thing because I tend to get riled up about these acts of stupidity.

Thanks for the comment. To tell you the truth, Pluto is my favourite planet. It is very small, yet mysterious. That name change was pointless.
That sucks, first stipped of it’s “planetship”, now it’s name is replaced with a number!
Sounds like a jail number if you ask me.
wonder what they gonna rename next.. man gets bored man amuses himself by renaming a plannet.. “haha look at my power i renamed a planet”…
