My thoughts on…the 26th Annual Razzie Nominations

February 1st 2006 -

Everybody’s freaking out over the Oscars? Who will get nominated? Who won’t? Will Brokeback Mountain make a clean sweep at yet another awards ceremony? Well frankly, I don’t care. I’ve never in my life watched an entire Academy Awards show. I normally watch the opening act then switch to something more interesting or fall asleep. The Razzies…now that’s something I’d want to watch! The Razzies, the awards ceremony of the Golden Raspberry Foundation, sifts through the garbage that Hollywood spews forth every year and picks the worst of the worst. It’s for everyone who ever went to see a movie and then felt cheated for wasting their hard earned money on such a steaming pile of crap, so its pretty much for everyone. Here are my picks for 2005’s:

Worst Screenplay - Son of the Mask
Worst Director - John Asher
Worst Remake or Sequel - House of Wax
Worst Screen Couple - Rob Schneider and his diapers
Worst Supporting Actress - Paris Hilton
Worst Supporting Actor - Hayden Christensen
Most Tiresome Tabloid Targets - Paris Hilton and…Who-ever
Worst Actress - Tara Reid
Worst Actor - Will Ferrell
Worst Picture - Son of the Mask

Another beautiful thing about the Razzies is that the winners aren’t really winners at all. Winning feels good, but winning for being the worst is not. Do you have any picks?
