But don't blame Christians for not celebrating those antiquated holidays. People don't even remember them. The fact is Christmas is the most important holiday in the world, and big business wants to harness it for their own profit-driven ends. Christians are not to blame. Christians took the MASS out of ChristMAS long ago. Many churches were actually closed this past ChristMAS.

You are wrong that “that’s the only explanation.” The other explanation is that Christians themselves have been eliminating the religious elements for centuries. Few Christians celebrate any other aspect of this holy period (Advent, Michaelmas, Childermas). Most Christians don’t go to Mass. The decline of Christ’s important relative to Santa is just the latest aspect of a trend that’s been going on for centuries.
