My thoughts on…Micheal Jackson’s conversion to Islam
Micheal Jackson. The name alone brings back memories of bizzare events. It seems that each time this man moves he makes headlines. He truly deserves the title “Wacko Jacko”. It’s hard to believe that he was once a handsome, spunky black kid with a great voice and a bright future. He’ll probably be remembered for his antics than his music. Personally, I’m tired of all the controversy. When I see his name in the headlines, I’m like, *groan* “What did he do now?”
Now he’s in the headlines once more, and no, it’s not concerning his rotting nose or child molestation charges. it’s his conversion to Islam and his move to Bahrain. He said he moved to Bahrain because he can “be rid of various legal troubles and enjoy the kind of freedom he does not have in America”. Hmm… I wonder what “freedoms” means? Is child molestation is legal there? It doesn’t really matter anyway, because he’s rich, and you can get away with anything in a third-world country once you’re rich.
The majority of Americans couldn’t be happier (another thing people gave thanks for). His brother Jermaine apparently encouraged his conversion. That explains his Anti-Semitic comments. He said that Jews are “like leeches”. Not surprising, because Islam is not the most tolerant religion. Everyone from another religion is an infidel in their eyes. Hope he doesn’t become an extremist. If he does, be careful when you go to the next Micheal Jackson concert - he might have bombs in his shoes and decide to use them. Talk about an explosive performance!

I am here not to defend MJ, but to defend Islam.. It really hurts me as a Muslim reading your opinion.. I’ve come across lots of articles such as this one, though..
I wasn’t\am not a big fan of MJ, but I hope his converting to Islam is true and he could help spread a better image about Islam.. though i doubt that he will! but anyways, We, Muslims, do not consider other religions as infidel as you may think, on the contrary, Islam is teaching us to respect all religions no matter what.. But that doesn’t mean that there are extremists that think so, even in Christians, Jews or other religions have extremists that that are intolerant and “hate” other religions! This is not strict to Islam..
Those extermist who disgrace Islam are nothing but shame to this peaceful religion, and they, in fact, are not real Muslims..
Attacking innocent people and countries is not in the Islamic “Shariah” ! We are only allowed to DEFEND our country and people ONLY IF we are attacked.. and what those extermists do is nothing like what the Quran says, you see what I mean?
The majority of Muslims are nothing like that, only the “bad” Muslims “rise” and disgrace Islam.. and those, unforunatly the ones who get noticed..

I have nothing against Christianity or any other religion, Islam taught me to respect all..

You make some valid points muslim. Perhaps I was being too harsh in my commentary, and I respect members of all faiths, but you have to admit, you don’t see Christians, Jews, Hindus, etc strapping bombs to themselves and blowing people to kingdom come. And to abeni, perhaps because Islam is a very afrocentric religion, unlike Christianity, which is more European.

You don’t see Muslims killing black people because only whites were chosen by God,either. And yet no one blames Christianity for the actions of the ‘Christians’ who do this!
In every religion you will see wackos who think they are the true believers while killing everyone else. Islam is not immune from fanatics, yet it’s almost the only religion where fanaticism is mistaken for the real religion.
When’s the last you heard of a Christian wacko killing someone of another religion? Honestly!
